F.A.Q.

Here is a list of some of our FAQs

All our FAQs:

Cancelations:

We require 2 days’ notice to cancel a booking and reschedule.  We do not offer refunds.  We will only refund sessions if we must cancel them with no way to reschedule on our part.  Our sessions are rain or shine, we do not reschedule for weather, if we are not closing ourselves, we are sorry for the inconvenience.  Please make sure you check the weather before booking.  We do have some heaters for colder days but make sure you still bundle up if it will be cold out!  We understand your priority to your children is to make sure they stay comfortable and warm we have children of our own and we would never put our guests at risk due to weather.  We will cancel and reschedule any sessions we deem unsafe due to temperature, rain/snow or bad storms.  If your booking hasn’t been canceled and you are curious if it will be due to weather, we encourage you to reach out and check with us!  if you or us have to reschedule we do require that it be within 30 days of the canceled session.

Booking sessions

when booking if you are unable to book for your entire party size please pick another day and time to book, that means the session is almost full.  Our sessions only allow for up to 15 people to come and visit at a time.  Everyone in your party requires a paid ticket above the age of 2.  Every child under the age of 18 requires an adult paid participant to accompany them.

Payment options

For booking sessions we do require you to pay through our website.  at this time we do not allow for payment at the time of the session to make sure all spots are appropriately filled and we don't end up with people no showing.  we are sorry if that is an inconvenience.  payments at our farm stand, we do accept cash and all types of credit cards.  We do not accept checks of any type.

Hours of operation

we do have hours from 10am-4pm Monday and Wednesday through Saturday and 10am-3pm Sunday. We are closed on Tuesdays. Our hours are split over our different type of sessions.  Some days our first 2 hours are dedicated to mask friendly snuggles, and the end few hours are dedicated to private parties/birthday parties.  we do edit our schedule frequently to be able to accommodate as many people as possible.  if private bookings don't get booked 48 hours before the weekend we do take back the sessions and turn them in to general snuggles so check back on our website if you are looking for those hours.  we do ask that you reach out to us to check how our schedule is looking for a certain time, we try to help everyone be able to book the days and times they are looking for as often as possible.

Closures

we do try and remain open as often as possible some times weather and life get in the way.  please remember we are still a small business run by only our family.  some times we need a break too, to be able to celebrate a birthday, go camping, or sport games.  if we will be closed there will be ample notification and we will never cancel a session if previously booked, we do close the full day out before anyone can access for booking.  if weather does force us to close we will reschedule you as soon as we are able to.

Weather:

Our sessions are rain or shine, we do not reschedule for weather, if we will not be closing ourselves, we are sorry for the inconvenience. If your booking hasn’t been canceled and you are curious if it will be due to weather, we encourage you to reach out and check with us!  if we do have to reschedule your session we will try and do so for the follow week, if that isn't possible it will be no farther then 30 days from the booking.  we do not reschedule for secondary dates past 30 days from original booking date.

To Wear or Not To Wear, that is the question:

Please dress appropriately for a farm! There are big hooves, poop and mud!

Don’t wear your favorite white shoes they will get dirty.

Wear something you are ok with getting messy and stinky!

Do not wear long dangling jewelry or clothing:

the goats will think it’s food, if they ingest it they can get sick and that can be costly, plus your item will be lost and ruin.

No ripped up pants they love the dangling strings

No large hooped earrings, the goats might try and snack on them

No dangling keys or phone cases

Let’s put it this way if a toddler puts everything in their mouths so do goats! If you don’t want it eaten, broken or dirty don’t bring it here.  If you need to place something in an area away from the goats either leave it in your vehicle or we can hold it for you.

Where our animals have come from:

They have come from ct, ri and ma as of now.  They all have different stories some are posted on our page while others out of privacy for the people we received them from will not be publicly posted about.

How to get help from us -  non emergent:

By contacting through our Facebook page, website, phone or email! We would love to be able to take in every animal that needs us but that is truly an unsustainable mission.  If we can’t help here at our farm, we will give you names of other farms to reach out at.

If you are contacting from out of CT we would love to help but make sure you check all road regulations to travel from your state to here for placement.  Some states have strict rules for state to state animal transfers and traveling.

How to get help from us – emergency:

Please contact us by phone (860)-772-7500.

Do you give safe housing to anything besides goats?:

Yes! We take in chickens, ducks, guinea hens, pigs, goats and sheep currently! Currently we do not have spacing for larger animals then our goats but keep an eye on our page to see when our new barn is built so we can hopefully start taking in cows and horses down the line!

Where are you located?:

We are in Griswold CT near the Rhode Island boarder and Norwich CT.  We are exit 22 off interstate 395.  Our road is off ct route 165.  We are in a residential area so don’t be surprised to not be surrounded by farmland! Our house is away from the road, and we have a long driveway.  Please look for our signs and our purple bicycle mailbox! Sometimes the GPS will say Jewett city for our town that is also correct our town has 2 names 😊

Do you allow visitors?:

We allow visitors to our farm by appointment only! If you would like to come, just for our farm stand or to pick up gift cards or items just please give us a heads up that you are coming.  To meet the goats and animals you do require a paid appointment.

Rent a goat option:

As of now we will only be travelling up to a 40-mile radius from our property.  Long car rides are very stressful for the goats! Thank you for understanding

Private booking option:

Our private bookings are for groups of 1 person to 20.  We can add up to 5 more per our largest group for an additional price.  Our private bookings are for up to 1.5 hours of time.  This is not a birthday party option we do not supply food or cakes for a party.  If you would like to bring your own little cake, we can give you a small table to place it on away from the animals.  We do not have tons of seating for large groups.

Birthday option:

We do offer a birthday party option! Our party option covers 3 hours of time and allows for 1 hour for cake, eating and presents.  We do not supply food.  We can supply table and chairs for the party plus some decorations, but you are more then welcome to bring your own!

How can I give to help your sanctuary?:

Individuals can give by contributing money, time, goods and services.  We have several options listed on our website.  We also have an amazon wish list if you would prefer a physical option. 😊

Is it safe to give online?:

Some donors might have reservations about giving online, and that’s understandable. However, most (if not all) nonprofits use donation forms that adhere to the guidelines that are put in place by the Payment Card Industry (known as PCI compliance).

These standards ensure that donor data is encrypted and cannot be compromised. Many donation forms will have security logos and certifications to demonstrate their compliance with PCI standards.
